I'm not sure you know how much time, effort, and manipulation it took for us three to get to this location tonight. The government of Sevilla put on a competition, having the grand prize be a ticket to the premiere of Game of Thrones at Sevilla's Alcazar where some scenes were filmed. Emphasis on one ticket. Because while I spent hours researching the plot of Game of Thrones, thinking of a creative selfie my family and I could take there, AND embarrassing myself as we tried 7 times to to take the photo on the left while other tourists trying to take in the beauty of the Alcazar hardcore judged us and our distracting project, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO WIN AT LEAST TWO TICKETS. But unfortunately the next 24 hours would be a roller coster of emotions. First the victorious feeling of being a winner, then the dream-crushing reality that I would have to go alone, then hard work of sending 3 INCREDIBLY annoying emails to the government of Sevilla convincing them that I needed a ticket for my translator, and then the sweet, sweet taste of victory once again when I received the news that, yes, Alvaro could join me.

Those of you with a great attention to detail might be asking yourselves, well then how in the world did Lorea get to come too? Well it turns out being annoying can get you not only one extra ticket, but two, because Lorea was doing the same thing and somehow got herself a ticket to the premiere without even participating in the contest. I know. I’m just as impressed as you are.

So, Sunday night, we were there. In the Alcazar. With the mayor of Sevilla. And important people I didn’t recognize. Watching the Game of Thrones premiere. Enjoying it in all of it’s disgusting, overly bloody glory.
