You know those days that absolutely suck, but whenever you try to explain them to other people the suckiness just doesn't get conveyed as well as you would like, mostly because you're probably being a brat? Today was one of those days. And I almost let that keep me inside watching Netflix all afternoon and missing a crazy parade of people dressed in clothes that look like they came out of a history book, riding in decorated horse-drawn carriages. But instead, I convinced myself (jk my mom did - thanks for that) to go out and see the event regardless. At first I though I missed it, so I angrily made my way over to my favorite gelato place right there in the square in order to take out my feelings on some coconut, mango and raspberry gelato. But for reasons I do not know, I decided to stay and enjoy my ice cream out in the plaza, despite my sour mood. Turns out, the parade was just running behind schedule, so soon after sitting down on the park bench (20 minutes after the 6:30 start time), I heard the click-clack of hooves coming down the street.

It ended up being a really cool sight to see! While, yes, going out of the house didn’t change the course of my life or result in some crazy cool adventure, it brought my spirits up and turned my horrible day into a not too bad one. So thanks to my mom for convincing me to get out of my bed and do something, and to Caroline for making me believe that while wandering around European cities I might stumble upon a prince. Because I’ll admit, that’s always in the back of my mind.
